Thats an ok way of crank case ventilation, even better still is a Vacu Pan, that way you can run it into your headers rather than bringing shitty gasses into your inlet. It wont stop the ventilation from the tappet cover from getting clogged up again, but will help clean the gass of oil and there for help stop clogging of your inlet with crappy oily gasses it other wise would have sucked back into the even for reburning. Pretty much the hose from tappet cover goes into the catch can then you put on the exit hose from the catch can back to the inlet where the hose used to go. Usually, if timing covers continue to leak its either because something is warped or the wrong sealant was used. So work out the problem first, but the hose from your tappet cover that goes back into the inlet is where you tape into when installing a oil catch can. Virtually the idea of it is to return unburned fuely gasses from blow by and air back out of your crank case back into the inlet whitest relieving engine pressure. The catch can wont stop your crank case ventilation issues as such,unless you have no ventilation system currently? it has the pcv on the oil filler cap and the pcv was blocked up. ![]() On my falcon the pcv blocked up on the dyno with oil and grime and pressure blew the tapet cover casket on high revs, was oily mess. If you have a base model it is only covered 4 years or 50,000 miles. ![]() You would have to work out why the crank case isnt venting first.Īnything related to crank case ventilation you would remove and clean out. ![]()
